ALARA
Daughter of KING LATHAM II, ruler of NEVAR, ALARA had been kidnapped by
the King's former wizard known as TREVOR MOORLOCK.
ALEIA
The queen mother of the elves.
ALLIANCE
OF EVIL
A short lived alliance between SINESTRA and SOURI.
AMITY
A great sorceress who dedicated her life to removing evil and strife from
Atoll. She created the FOUR SCEPTERS OF ACCORD when she broke the ROD
OF PEACE into four parts. As long as they were in the possession of the
land's ruler, the kingdom could not fall to outside aggression. This served
as a balance of power for the Bandit Kingdoms and prevented any one kingdom
from getting the upper hand.
ARCHIMEDES
A powerful wizard - keeper of the evil efreeti known as ELAN.
KING ARDUN
Once ruler of MARBELLA. Killed in a bitter power struggle with his queen.
BANTOM
An evil demon that appears once a year in WINOKUR - an isolated village
located in the Barbarian Kingdom of BENTON. Each year, a PORTAL to the
NEGATIVE PLANE opens up and allows a creature called BANTOM to come through.
The PORTAL is only open for a short time and if the creature can be distracted
long enough, it is drawn back into its dimension. Decades ago, it was
discovered that a VIRGIN MAIDEN (why is it never virgin men?), kept BANTOM
occupied and thus the ritual sacrifice began.
BARBARIAN
COUNCIL
A council consisting of representatives from the ISLE OF NAGRAEL and the
barbarian kingdoms of OLANTH, BACCOR, BENTON, and INGSTAAD.
BAROMIR
A FROST GIANT and master of the guardian CEREBUS.
BLIXA
SINESTRA'S first lieutenant.
LORD BORON
Leader of the dwarven kingdom DRUMAK.
BRRINK
Former commander of the armies of DAEDO
CAPRICIOUS
Brother of GREGARIOUS, he has been off in the mountains for many years
trying to find inner peace. He lived there with wolfie, and generally
had it pretty good. He thought, he supposed, he pontificated, and generally
had a fine time until he was attacked by brigands, scoundrels, and poorly
dressed myrimidons. They harmed Wolfie, and caused Capricious to take
a more active role in the realm.
CEREBUS
The FOUR HEADED GUARDIAN that protects the lair of BAROMIR the FROST GIANT.
CHULA
The CHANCELLOR OF OLANTH - one of the barbarian kingdoms located on the
ISLE OF NAGRAEL.
DAGGOTH
Queen of the dwarven kingdom of TABIR. She has a single son, PRINCE GALDAG,
who attempted to steal the ANVIL OF KORUTH to unite his people.
DAMAGO
Former child of the forest (now turned mercenary) who is presumed missing
or dead.
DANNON
Leader of the dwarven kingdom of GRUM.
DECIDUOUS
A black sheep amongst the druids, his rebellious ways managed to protect
the ONE TREE, but also got his mind fried by a certain marauding Efreeti.
For some reason he has never been the same. Latest accounts point to him
heading east.
THE DELVINS
The Delvins are a race of dark elves. They are extremely evil, perhaps
warped by being driven under the earth. They have had many plots to conquer
Atoll, many by SINESTRA, a dark elf wizardress of innate magical power.
KING DERRICK
The opportunistic ruler of MORFIELD, who guards NEDIA'S borders against
the anarchy of the BADLANDS in exchange for a hefty tribute.
DESMOND
The GENERAL OF BACCOR - one of the barbarian kingdoms located on the ISLE
OF NAGRAEL.
DIRVESH
Lord of the sand. He summons vast sandstorms in the ENDLESS DESERT to
wipe out entire parties of adventurers.
LORD DRAMKUS
A respected sorcerer and one of the nobles of the capital of KUTNO. The
last time we saw him, he was on FIRE ISLAND and in possession of a certain
BASILISK EYE and helped the PARTY along with a few handy SCROLLS.
DUNTHAIN
After the GOD WAR, MORADIN was banished and over time the Dwarves stopped
believing in him and turned instead to a new pantheon and the god DUNTHAIN,
Lord of the Mountains.
ELAN
An Efreeti who once sought the destruction of the Great Forest, but was
then trapped in a bottle for the rest of eternity.
ELLADONNA
Current leader of the WIZARD'S COUNCIL.
ELVES OF
GLANDORIUM
Together with the GNOMES OF ARDEMEA, they created a set of magical items
called the COTERIE OF GLANDOR, that when used together gave the bearer
tremendous powers.
EMILY
RANDOM'S lost love UNGARA who has assumed a new identity as a innkeeper.
ENDLESS ONE
A scourge upon all of Atoll. For many years it was thought he had been
defeated, until a plot by SINESTRA brought him back to atoll, although
severely weakened. He is the single greatest threat to peace on Atoll.
See SOURI. Also referred to as the LORD OF LIGHT.
EPHRAIM ZOLOFT
Aka "Neville," Ephraim is a young scholar who, through his countless
exploits, has devised a stratagem reputed to change the way evil is fought
in the new Post-Sinestra Age.
ERABETH
KING REVILO'S aide de camp - currently the unofficial leader of KRISTIANSAAD
until Revilo's return. Erabeth has had little time to assume Revilo's
duties as leader since she has been busy overseeing some serious renovation
projects of the castle
FADOR
A traveling paladin who is responsible for defeating the evil priest GLINGUS.
FENUGREEK
GREGARIOUS' faithful black canine, to whom many an adventurer has had
an unhealthy attraction to, despite species and race classification.
GALDAG
Son of QUEEN DAGGOTH and prince of the dwarven kingdom of TABIR. He once
attempted to steal the ANVIL OF KORUTH to unite his people.
GERA
An ANDRO-SPHINX who resides on the ENCHANTED ISLE in an attempt to evade
the incessant questionings of mankind.
KING GERETH
Responsible for the futile plot to blank the mind of PROCULOUS.
GLACIA
An ICE DRAGON who travels in humanoid form.
THE GLENDAR
RANGERS
Often appearing as the protectors of the land of Atoll, the Glendar Rangers
patrol the forests, hills and countryside; leaving the streets to the
city dwellers. It was through a mission of the Glendar Rangers that SINESTRA
was "annihilated."
GLINGUS
During the THIRD AGE, before the GREAT WARS, there was a thoroughly evil
priest by the name of GLINGUS. He and his horrid band of ZEALOTS terrorized
the MIDDLE LANDS with DEMON WORSHIP and HUMAN SACRIFICE. This reign of
terror lasted until a traveling PALADIN named FADOR showed up and was
able to defeat GLINGUS, at the cost of his own life. But evil is never
easily banished. Much like the ENDLESS ONE, the spirit of GLINGUS lived
on and the castle that was home to all manner of abominations was never
cleansed and had to be sealed beneath a mountain of earth. In fact, it
was rumored that GLINGUS was not killed, but merely buried alive with
his entire horde. The riches that he has stolen from the land were buried
inside as well. HOLLOW HILL was the name given to this desolate mound.
It is a location that has been forgotten by many, and shunned by those
that do remember. Looters have tried before to break into the HILL in
search of treasure, but all have met will failure. FADOR, as his last
act, had the HILL sealed with SPECIAL MAGICS so that none could find enter
and disturb what was within.
GNOMES OF
ARDEMEA
Together with the ELVES OF GLANDORIUM, they created a set of magical items
called the COTERIE OF GLANDOR, that when used together gave the bearer
tremendous powers.
GREGARIOUS
A great sage who battles SOURI, SINESTRA, and all the forces of evil with
his trusty dog FENNUGREEK. Unfortunately, he has gone missing, leaving
his eldest brother CAPRICIOUS to handle the task.
GRIMJAW
A cleric of the GATHERING DUST and servant of his mistress MOVENA.
GUNTHER
Deceased leader of the centaurs who passed leadership onto LINDEN THARR.
KING HAGALA
Iron-fisted ruler of DAEDO, which lies on the far eastern shore of BAISLA.
HENRI
A spy for the Freedom government. Speaking with an outrageous Freedom
accent, he and his sometime partner, POIROT, seek to increase the renown
of the Freedom people.
HEPHESTUS
Past Queen and Sorceress of the Kingdom of STEELWELL - killed by the GUARDIAN
SARKY.
HIGHLANDERS
Just southeast of the NORTHERN WASTELANDS, the HIGHLANDERS have no real
Kingdom, per se, merely a collection of human settlements, towns and logging
communities scratching out a hard existence in a hostile land. Their prime
export is lumber, most notably the highly prized ASH wood, which is transported
by barge along the SNOWY RIVER and then across the INLAND SEA. They are
constantly harassed by the OGRES to the north and the DARK ORCS to the
south.
HORAK
The elder god of war. Once enlisted by a party of unwary adventurers to
defeat The Endless One, he is as much a danger as any other evil in Atoll.
HORSHACK
A scientist as old as time itself, who was once commissioned by SOURI
to extract from the living an elixir which would bring Souri back from
the dead.
IMMORTAL
SOLDIERS
There is a constant battle that has been waged throughout time. Life vs.
Death, Chaos vs. Order, Good vs. Evil. Call it what you will, the battle
is timeless and the warriors eternal. One IMMORTAL SOLDIER for each side,
created to wage battle against the other until the end of time. A pair,
inseparable and immortal, because even though one side may rule for a
time, that time is fleeting. For light cannot exist without dark, there
is no joy without sadness and so the battle must be waged until the void
comes once again to reclaim all that is.
KING JANUS
Leader of the ARDA GNOMES and ruler of ARDEMEA, which lies on the eastern
shores of BAISLA in the ARDA MOUNTAINS, east of HORMOUND. He is married
to QUEEN CALAIS.
KINDARON
An OGRE WARLORD who had taken over the beloved KRISTIANSAND in the Kingdom
of PALISADE. It became a refuge for all of the retreating ARMIES OF EVIL.
Anyone who spoke out against KINDARON disappeared and was never heard
from again.
KING LATHAM
II
Former ruler of NEVAR, whose daughter ALARA had been kidnapped by the
King's former wizard known as TREVOR MOORLOCK.
LINDEN THARR
Leader of the Centaurs.
LUTHER THE
MAGE
A traveling mage. Hoping to perfect his skills in the art of spell casting,
he challenges any wanderers he comes across upon the road to spell duels.
He is a bit obsessed with his own greatness, however small that may be,
and expects that all know his name. If not, he will let you know...over
and over again. Oh, and he has no spleen.
MARLOK
The greatest DRUID in history. Even though he mourns the loss of RATHBONE
and the madness of DECIDUOUS, he has managed to pull his people together
and recover from the ravages of the GREAT WAR.
MARSHALL
MACLUEN
A lawman about these parts. You can tell by his swagger and the way his
spurs go "chink" every time he walks.
MERCER
General and emissary from the kingdom of PALISADE.
MIKA
Taka's "fierce jungle kitty" companion.
MINEAS KAHN
Dictator of the evil Kingdom of ENDAR
MORADIN
After the GOD WAR, MORADIN was banished and over time the Dwarves stopped
believing in him and turned instead to a new pantheon and the god DUNTHAIN,
Lord of the Mountains.
MOVENA
An evil sorceress. For too long she was trapped within the shackles of
Goodness, only able to roam free in the dreamstate, but now she is free!
MARLOK was her pawn and she is well rid of him. He was too meek, it was
her who had the drive, her with the ambition and now she will enjoy the
fruits of life!

An evil sorcerer who was rumored to be in league with the ENDLESS ONE
and was expelled from the Kingdom of CALENDAR.

Ruler of CALENDAR.
PAVEL
Ruler of the small kingdom of GARTH along with his QUEEN TABITHA.
PICARD
A traveling bard who is forever seeking new inspiration for his music.
PIERRE
The World's Greatest (human) Swordfighter! Also a member of the Freedom
people, wearing the uniform of the government. A dangerous duelist waiting
for unsuspecting travelers upon the road. It's a theme in Atoll.
PRIMUS HAWK
Slayer of dragons, undefeated champion in battle, and betrothed to the
Princess Priscilla, daughter of KING LUCIOUS III of NEVARR.
PROCULUS
This quirky little elf is the head librarian at the GREAT LIBRARY in OLOROTH,
in the elvin country of GLANDORIUM. This Library contains all of the knowledge
and wisdom of the world of ATOLL. Though, usually a shut in, Proculus
has been known to go on an adventure of two. For a brief interval, Proculus'
mind was erased by a stupid politician. The wisdom of the ages was almost
lost, and overcome by a compulsion to eat lots and lots of cookies. Fortunately,
TAKA, the shaman/witch doctor returned to Proculus her mind.
QUEEN TAMELA
Centaur queen of the fortified city of CHANO on the island of NAGRAEL.
RANDOM
Adventurer and swordsman fighting against the evil that infests the land
of ATOLL.
RANTOM RE
From the barbarian Kingdom of OLANTH, this minion of SINESTRA attempted
to steal the PALANTIR OF KINGS, only to be killed by Sinestra.
RATHBONE
One of the past leaders of the druids.
REBOULET
Born into Barbarian Royalty, Reboulet has little use for the forceful
nature of his home tribes. Honor is most important to Reboulet. Honor
and country. Honor and Country and God. Honor and country and God and
finding that ignoble assassin Vas.
REDBEARD
Leader of the dwarven kingdom of KORUTH.
KING REVILO
III
King of KRISTIANSAAD. Revilo is known for his philandering ways and tendencies
to disguise himself among commoners. He has gone missing as of late, leaving
his aide de camp ERABETH in charge. Revilo's whereabouts are unclear.
He went missing as did many monarchs in fear to being sacrificed by Sinestra
to Horak, the elder god of war. Sightings occur occasionally. Perhaps
he will come to a small box in a living room near you...
RICKSHAW
THE GNOLL
No one is really sure what happened to Rickshaw the gnoll, nor really
where he came from to begin with. He was a prisoner of Duke Albin, who
freed the Gnoll in order to aid him in his reclaiming of Ardun. But Rickshaw
had plans of his own and betrayed the Duke. He had planned a brilliant
attack on the house of Ardun, meant to establish a land from which he
could launch his forces, once loyal to Sinestra, onward to greater battles.
However, the plot was foiled, and Rickshaw hasn't been heard from since.
SABLE THE
DEATH KNIGHT
Sable was once a man, a Knightly warrior residing in Palisade serving
under King Revilo III. Upon returning home from a quest, he found his
wife with another man. He was promptly stabbed in the back by this man,
and as he lay dying he called out to gods and devils to save him. None
answered. And then he called out to the Endless One. The Endless One answered.
Now he cannot die, and he seeks revenge upon all of Palisade for the wrong
that was done to him. Also, he has slowly been warped to the visions of
Souri, and now seeks the destruction of all of Atoll.
SELENE
A succubus sent by VLAD to keep watch over GRIMJAW. There is tension between
the two, but both are aware that they currently hold value to VLAD.
SIMON
Part demon, part game show host, SIMON was spawned by the chaos that once
spread across the land of ATOLL.
SINESTRA
A ridiculously high level delvin sorceress necromancer and former consort
to Souri, the Endless One. Her main purpose was to achieve world domination
with her massive armies of undead, orcs and goblins. In a quest to accrue
all the items of the Coterie of Glandor (and she almost did, getting her
hands on six out of seven), she misstepped and managed to get a big ol'
mountain dropped on her head thanks to the Glendar Rangers and a Knight
of the Coterie. Could she return?
SNUG
A mischievous character who has lost touch with reality (which some may
refer to as the fourth wall) and steps over that line whenever possible.
Hated by pretty much all of Atoll's denizens, but appreciated occasionally
by the furry woodland creatures who find life in Atoll quite silly.
SOURI
A delvin who became covetous of the COTERIE and one by one, stole them
for his own. Together, these items were never meant to be wielded by one
person and the result was disastrous. They perverted the desires of Souri
and from his will came the races of orcs, goblins, trolls and gnolls.
By the time the deeds of Souri had been discovered, it was too late. The
Coterie also changed the physical makeup of Souri himself and thus the
ENDLESS ONE was born. It took the combined might of the elder races to
defeat the Endless One. Yet his power was so great that though his body
was destroyed his spirit continued on, endlessly searching for the Coterie
in order to regain his true form and exact his revenge upon atoll. It
is because of this that the Coterie was separated but not before it was
used one last time to create four knights. These knights were charged
to each take an item and secret it away, protecting its location from
detection and their item from all hands. As in all such things, time passes,
fact turns into legend, legend into myth and myth into fairy tales told
by crackling fires.
TAKA
Taka is a Shaman, a witch doctor, a cleric of his tribal people. He has
been on several adventures, very few of witch have ended in success. Taka
attributes this to the fact that the Gods hate him. He has a fierce jungle
cat named Mika, who took up residence with him, and now he can't make
it leave. Uprooted from jungle hut trying to get food for fierce jungle
kitty, Taka waylaid by adventure to save trees. He save trees from Efreeti
burning, but later burned all friends while guarding Flame. Later, Taka
fix funny little elf's brain with mushrooms that grew on bugbear dropping.
TAMELA
Ruler of the Barbarian Province of INGSTAAD and its fortified city CHANO
located on the isle of NAGRAEL.
TEAGUE
The wisest and oldest living member of the HIGH ELVES. Before his passing,
He journeyed to the shores of the GREAT LAKE to take the SILVER FERRY
to the MISTY OCEAN of the east.
TOBEY
A kind, but wholly ineffectual ruler of the small Kingdom of NEDIA on
the southern most tip of BAISLA.
KING TOTTI
Ruler of REGISTAAD.
TRAN
A wizard responsible for opening the PORTAL to the NEGATIVE PLANE and
allowing a creature called BANTOM to come through.
TREVOR MOORLOCK
The former wizard to KING LATHAM II of NEVAR. He was accused of kidnapping
the king's daughter ALARA.
UNGARA
RANDOM'S lost love who has assumed a new identity as a innkeeper named
EMILY.
VA-LAH
The only son of ALEIA, the queen mother of the elves.
VLAD
Once the lord and master of CASTLE SANGRE in the MISTY VALLEY, Vlad is
a powerful vampire who intends to rule all of Atoll with his army of the
undead.
GENERAL VODUN
Leader of WESTHELM - a province of the GLENDAR PLAINS who seeks to control
the trade routes.
WALDO T.
BIGGLES
A snake oil traveling salesman dealing in elixirs and potions for whatever
ails ya.
WALKER
Adventurer and swordsman fighting against the evil that infests the land
of ATOLL.
THE WIZARD'S
COUNCIL
A mysterious organization led by ELLADONNA located on the ISLE OF WINDEN.
Very few souls on Atoll know of their existence. Their main function is
to maintain the balance of the world. And one such way it is rumored they
do so is by administering the test for "guardianship". The COUNCIL
dates back to the FIRST AGE when they chose to remove themselves from
the affairs of mortals. What their true powers are and exactly how many
are in their number, no one knows. It is believed that they serve the
forces of good, for it is the COUNCIL that create GUARDIANS OF THE FLAME.
Every so often, adventurers are pulled from where ever they may be to
be tested. If they complete the task set before them, they are bestowed
with magical powers and sent back into the world to serve the land. That
is IF they survive...
WUNJO
The royal fool to KING HAGALA, ruler of DAEDO. Wunjo had greatness thrust
upon him when he accidentally volunteered to lead a particularly dangerous
quest to track down a few deserters.

GUARDIANS OF THE FLAME
Guardians of the Flame have powers above and beyond those of mere mortals.
They can heal themselves indefinitely, resurrect a party member once and
heal a party member once. Find out more about the guardians here.
CARL SPACKLER
You see, I've got a plan here, really it's about a six year plan, cause
right now, you know, I'm guardian of the Flame, which is important because
Flame can really burn up the greens and fairways. But I figure, with the
amount of study I'm putting in you know, I can be the Dungeonmaster in
like six years. I mean, like Lamias, you know. that's the kinda stuff
I know about that makes me you, know the next in line. I've also invented
a new kind of weapon. It's a whip, and it's made out of genuine cowhide,
diamond claws and northern Atoll sinsemilla. What's great about this is
you can fight monsters all day, and then go back to your shack and get
stoned to the begeesses. Which is nice.
GOLGOTHA
Mightiest of the Guardians (so he thinks), who wanders the land with his
Spoon of Doom and Crest of Zest seeking his friend. He never grows hungry
after eating the fabled Phoenix eggs.
LOONG OF THE GOLD MOUNTAIN
Loong is a warrior monk from the Monastery of the Gold Mountain, in the
Arda Mountains of eastern Hormound. He wanders the land pursuing perfection
of body and spirit and seeking knowledge of the Twin Principles and Five
Processes, so that one day he can pass his order's Examinations of Mastery.
Along the way he lends his skills in unarmed combat and magic to various
worthy causes, as part of his order's mission of leading all thinking
beings to the Supreme Enlightenment of the Perfect Ascended Masters.
MOUSE
Mouse has really, one simple goal in her life: to spread joy and love
of Kender everywhere and go home. Needless to say, she is incredibly naive
in many aspects of life, but what do you expect from a Kender? She is
one of the founding members of the soon-to-be well known Kender Scouts.
It bothered her and her friends that so many other races were wary of
her kind and they felt that something needed to be done. Hence, the Kender
Scouts. They agreed that instead of "forgetting" to return things,
they would trade for them. And what would they trade? Why, cookies of
course! It pleases them to no end that the cookies are becoming far more
popular than they had expected. However, if she would remember to actually
get something for her cookies, she may yet earn her merit badge.
MYCROFT
An older mage, a Guardian of the Flame, he tends to wear a vest, a flat
hat with a gorgeous plume, and he finds it difficult to resist a book
or scroll. Not a great fighter, though adequate, he is fairly successful
with spell use. Tends to fight with short sword and dagger.
SARKY
A vertically challenged dwarf. He is the eighth dwarf that Disney did
not want. This left him very bitter and, you guessed it, very sarcastic.
Fortunately sarcasm is only one of his many talents. He is also a magician
and knows a thing or two about a thing or two, and is also a vaunted Guardian
of the Flame. Following imprisonment by the Dark Knight Sable, Sarky was
secretly turned towards evil by the Knight. As leader of Sable's forces,
Sarky was briefly known as the Dark Flame before eventually being subdued
by a band of adventurers and cleansed of Sable's taint. He has since reverted
to his Guardian ways, albeit just as gruff and sarky as usual.

PLAYER
CHARACTERS
AGOG
Agog is lost in a maze and thinks he's still in some sort of a race that
has long been over. He happily walks the halls of this maze singing his
happy little ditty and banging pots on both his heads.
DRYSKIN
Dryskin lives in a firecave on Fire Island. In humanoid form, he took
up with what he thought was a half demon cat. Their happiness ended abruptly,
however, when she died giving birth to their child STRIKER THE BLACKHEARTED
aka "DRYEGG." He decided to move from the hot island and was
not instantly accepted by the masses. He then ventured on a quest to help
the realm of Atoll be a better place. He has a special ken with TAKA and
MOUSE. He fears LUTHER THE MAGE, who may one day ascertain his actual
identity.
NORMA MARGARITA
A farmer's wife and a pacifist. Just because we only see the wars and
the warriors in Atoll we can't forget the large number of Normal people
that wander Atoll. Norma is one of these people. She has no skills or
abilities, and refuses to fight. She carries a large handbag, and cranky
attitude. You would be cranky to, if you kept ended up with adventures
trying to save the world at the risk of their own lives.
SUSAN BONES
A rouge bludger during a quidditch match hit Susan, and the next thing
she knew was waking up in Atoll. Each adventure she has gone on, has been
of great importance. One of the few who witnessed the destruction of Sinsestra
and inducted into the Glendar Rangers. Later she helped to restore the
orb of power, and was awarded a gold heart from the wizard's council in
return. Her greatest accomplishments is defeating the Dark Wizard Moldevort,
who really is no one of importance, but she thinks is some super great
evil wizard. Perhaps the bludger did more damage then first thought. A
prep school witch, with dreams of one day returning home to England and
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
SHINE
Shine is a living weapon in the most basic sense. He is a ninja and master
of the black arts; which explains his all black attire. With the right
direction, his deadly skills could be focused against evil or for it.
Currently evil has been making good use of his destructive nature. Shine
has mastered the shadow and fights with two sais or unarmed. His most

STRIKER (The Blackhearted)
Dryskin's half-dragon offspring. Striker wishes to return to the island
that Dry Skin found her, but needs a party of 6 to find Roxteriser island.
Striker and Dry Skin are against each other because Dry Skin won't let
Striker find the island. Will there be a challenging race?
THAED
He was born an orphan, as his mother died on the city shores giving birth
to him. How he survived is unknown, but he grew up as a young thief in
the city and eventually became a respectable assassin (hence death backwards...
sort of). His life was in turmoil over his inner struggle between good
and evil, since all he had known was sorrow. That is until he was pulled
into a conflict between the GLENDAR RANGERS and SINESTRA, making him an
honorary Glendar Ranger and setting his path onto the noble one.
UMBRA BLACKSTONE
A 317 year old human, from the world of Amber (where she is only the equivalent
of six or seven years of age). Sent to Atoll to find her big brother Hal
Blackstone (A known warrior and drunk), she has taken a liking to roaming
the world of Atoll. Accompanied by her faithful dead rabbit Mr. Bunny,
Umbra has gone on several adventures. There are some rumors floating about
her working for the death knight Sable, but it is known she helped return
Sarky to the 'good' side, and was rewarded by the wizard council. Little
else is known of her motivations, but then who ever knows the motivations
of a six year old who is a combination fighter and mage.
VISHUS RUMOR
Once the noble King of Popular. He was a just ruler and treated all of
his subjects with benevolence. Life was good; until his court of deceitful
counsel started spreading vicious rumors about his conduct. The people
of his Kingdom believed these terrible stories and he was subsequently
dethroned and banished from the home he loved. He now roams the land as
a Nomadic Mercenary, making a living the best he can. Sadly, he is no
longer the King of Pop.

THE LAND
ARDEMEA
Ruled by KING JANUS and his wife, QUEEN CALAIS, leaders of the ARDA GNOMES.
The kingdom lies on the eastern shores of BAISLA in the ARDA MOUNTAINS,
east of HORMOUND.
BACCOR
One of the barbarian kingdoms located on the ISLE OF NAGRAEL ruled by
GENERAL DESMOND.
BADLANDS
Located in the southern most tip of BAISLA, this is a wild area where
all the notorious figures of Atoll can find refuge. It is a land of complete
anarchy. The only thing that keeps NEDIA free from being overrun by the
badlands are the armies of MORFIELD.
BAISLA
An island containing the kingdoms of NEDIA on the southernmost tip bordered
by the BADLANDS, the kingdom of ARDEMEA located on the eastern shores
in the ARDA MOUNTAINS east of HORMOUND, the kingdom of DAEDO on the far
eastern shore, sheltered from the ravages of war by the THROWBACK MOUNTAINS,
the NORTHERN WASTELANDS located on the far northeastern quadrant - land
of the FROSTGIANTS who inhabit the frozen GLACIAL PLAINS created by the
ENDLESS ONE, and the HIGHLANDS just southeast of the Northern Wastelands.
BANDIT KINGDOMS
These kingdoms are comprised of BASCULE, VENDOR, LISBON and GARTH. The
Bandit Kingdoms would like nothing better than to wipe the other three
kingdoms from the face of the realm and rule the southern tip of NAGRAEL
alone.
BARBARIAN
KINGDOMS
Located on the ISLE OF NAGRAEL, these consist of OLANTH, BACCOR, BENTON,
and INGSTAAD.

One of the BANDIT KINGDOMS of NAGRAEL.

Lies somewhere in the ENDLESS DESERT. Reportedly the lair of HORAK.

A fortified city on the island of NAGRAEL ruled by QUEEN TAMELA.
CRUMFELD
An orc kingdom ruled by KING NAGGLEFACE III and QUEEN FUSSBUDGET.
DAEDO
Ruled with an iron fist by KING HAGALA, Daedo lies on the far eastern
shore of BAISLA, sheltered from the ravages of war by the THROWBACK MOUNTAINS.
However the constant raiding by the MOUNTAIN GIANTS to the north and the
KOBOLDS to the south, serve to keep his armies strong and the people in
the outlands in constant fear for their lives. The merchant class manages
to do well off the toil and sweat of the commoners and provide a healthy
tax base for Hagala.
DIRE WOOD
A dense forest along the northern edge of BACCOR. Adventurers have been
known to become entangled in the dense growth.
DRUMAK
One of the DWARVEN KINGDOMS ruled by LORD BORON.
DUNADAY
Once a great kingdom, but a feud in the royal family split the land in
two and ever since the Kingdoms have been bitter rivals. Many attempts
have been made to bring peace to the land, but all have failed. QUEEN
MONTUCK is the leader of DUNADAY EAST and PRINCESS ARBELLA is her daughter.
KING FENWICK is the ruler of DUNADAY WEST.
DWARVEN KINGDOMS
To the west on the ISLE OF NAGRAEL, there is an vast range of mountains
that house the Dwarven Kingdoms. The rulers of these kingdoms are LORD
BORON of DRUMAK, LORD REDBEARD of KORUTH, LORD DANNON of GRUM and QUEEN
DAGGOTH of TABIR. These ancient Kingdoms are the first line of defense
in the battle with the ENDLESS ONE. Nothing known to man has been able
to survive passing through the mountains or battling the Dwarven Clans
on their underground turf. The four Kings and their people are proud of
their heritage and are happy to stay within their deep mountain halls,
mining all the riches that the isle has to give. This is not to say that
all is milk and honey. There are constant territory squabbles and border
wars are common. But since these happen deep underground the world knows
little of what happens between these clans. As long as the minerals and
ore keep flowing, who cares what Dwarves do in darkened caves.
ENCHANTED
ISLE
GERA the ANDRO-SPHINX resides on this island in an attempt to evade the
incessant questionings of mankind.
ENDAR
An evil kingdom located along the eastern shores of BAISLA ruled by the
evil MINEAS KAHN.
FAIRWAY
A small village in the kingdom of BOLTON.
GARTH
One of the BANDIT KINGDOMS of NAGRAEL ruled by KING PAVEL and his QUEEN
TABITHA. The royal city is named MAILOR. Previously
ruled by KING LEAGUE who had two sons, JINGO and HAWKEYE.
GELID MOUNTAINS
A mountain range in the NORTHERN WASTELANDS.
GLACIAL PLAINS
Located on the far northeastern quadrant of BAISLA - land of the FROSTGIANTS
who inhabit the frozen plains that were created by the ENDLESS ONE.

GLANDORIUM
Birth home of the elves.
GLENDAR PLAINS
Located in central BAISLA, this is the home of the GLENDAR RANGERS. The
Plains are surrounded by the four provinces of the Midlands. For years,
the Glendars have upheld the peace in the Midlands and kept the trade
roads open, even though the province of WESTHELM, led by GENERAL VODUN,
seeks to control the trade routes.
GRUM
One of the DWARVEN KINGDOMS ruled by LORD DANNON.
HALL OF MORADIN
Located in the lost city of KORHAL, this temple was built to worship the
dwarvish god MORADIN and contained the fabled ANVIL OF KORHAL.
HIGHLANDS
OF BAISLA
Just south of the Northern Wastelands, this is merely a collection of
human settlements, towns and logging communities scratching out a hard
existence in a hostile land. Their prime export is lumber, most notably
the highly prized ash wood, which is transported by barge along the SNOWY
RIVER and then across the INLAND SEA.
HORMOUND
Ruled by the REGENT MANDEL, until the heir, PRINCE CHARLES is married.
Located on the eastern shores of BAISLA, this kingdom is home to the royal
city of KUTNO which lies along the shores of the KUTT RIVER.
INLAND SEA
The great sea that divides the continents of ATOLL.
ISLE OF DAGREB
Located far off the western coast of NAGRAEL, it is inhabited by HUMANS
and HALF ORCS, with their own set of problems. There is no central leadership;
the local PATRIARCH or MATRIARCH rules each settlement. ATHLON is ruled
by the PATRIARCH AUGUSTUS. He has dreams of sending his daughter, REMORA
to the mainland and marrying above her station. He has sent away to HORMUND
for a refined nobleman to come and marry his daughter. His name is BIJOU,
but he was unexpectedly delayed
INGSTAAD
A barbarian province located on the isle of NAGRAEL, INGSTAAD is ruled
with an iron hand by the Barbarian Chieftess TAMELA.
KETHLA
A kingdom on the isle of NAGREAL along the southern tip. This is a hot
tropical city that lies along the western coast. Marshlands to the east
and beautiful ocean beaches to the west.
KORHAL
In time long forgotten, the Dwarves were of one clan and they lived in
a spectacular underground city known as KORHAL. They prayed to the god
MORADIN asking for long life, in return MORADIN demanded the sacrifice
of 10 of their best and brightest so that all might live. This they did,
but in time, grew tired of the ritual sacrifice and again prayed to MORADIN
for mercy. MORADIN demanded a gift in return for his gift of long life
and so the Dwarves fashioned an ANVIL that contained all of their skill
and knowledge. Any weapon forged upon this ANVIL would be magical and
contain an edge that could cut the fabric of reality. Of course, this
ANVIL was never to be used, and so was placed in the TEMPLE OF MORADIN
in the city of KORHAL. The city is now supposed to lay somewhere beneath
the WASTELANDS.
KORUTH
One of the DWARVEN KINGDOMS ruled by LORD REDBEARD.
KRISTIANSAAD
A royal city, ruled by KING REVILO III until his recent disappearance.
His aide de camp ERABETH has been left in charge.
KUTNO
A royal city in the kingdom of HORMUND ruled by the REGENT MANDEL, until
the heir, PRINCE CHARLES is married to the PRINCESS MARY.
KUTT RIVER
A river that runs along the royal city of KUTNO on the eastern shores
of BAISLA.
LISBON
On of the BANDIT KINGDOMS of NAGRAEL.
MAGIC FOREST
In all of Atoll, there is no place more revered (and feared), than the
MAGIC FOREST, for all within its boundaries are touched by MAGIC. Some
powerful, some benign, but MAGIC nonetheless.
MAILOR
The royal city within the kingdom of GARTH.
MARBELLA
Once ruled by KING ARDUN, this kingdom has developed a rather unique judicial
system. Criminals and enemies of the state, convicted of their crimes,
are given the opportunity once a year to race for their crimes. They are
set loose in the LABRYNTH, a diabolical dungeon and given the simple task
of finding their way out alive. Any who achieve this impossible task are
absolved of their crimes, and welcomed back into the Kingdoms as heroes.
In fact, the most elite fighting group of the Kingdom is made up of nothing
but the winners of this brutal contest and is known as the RUNNERS. Of
course there have only been 25 survivors out of over 400 "applicants",
so the elite group is not all that large. Over the years this annual event
has turned into quite the celebration, with people coming from miles around
to witness the carnage and bet on the outcome. It is called the DAY OF
THE RUNNER, a race against death.
MISTY VALLEY
Deep in the ISLE of NAGRAEL, nestled in the BARRIER MOUNTAINS, between
the barbarian kingdoms of OLANTH and BACCOR, there lies a place known
as MISTY VALLEY, home to the small village of SANGRE.
MORFIELD
A kingdom on the southern tip of BAISLA ruled by KING DERRICK.
NAGFORD
A fortified city inhabited by the Southern Orcs where the Orcish Kingdom
of CRUMFELD lies.
NAGRAEL
An island containing the BANDIT KINGDOMS of BASCULE, VENDOR, LISBON and
GARTH, as well as the Barbarian Province of INGSTAAD and its fortified
city CHANO. The kingdom of KETHLA lies on the southern tip.
NEDIA
A small Kingdom of on the southern most tip of BAISLA ruled by the kind,
but wholly ineffectual KING TOBEY. NEDIA has no standing army and depends
upon the grace of its eastern neighbor, KING DERRICK, ruler of MORFIELD.
A narrow land bridge to the northwest connects Nedia with the BADLANDS,
a wild area where all the notorious figures of ATOLL can find refuge.
It is a land of complete anarchy, and to say the least, they aren't friendly
neighbors. The only thing that keeps NEDIA free from being overrun by
the badlands are the armies of MORFIELD. The opportunistic KING DERRICK
takes great pleasure in the fact that TOBEY is trapped between him and
the BADLANDS. In return for his "protection" NEDIA must make
a yearly pilgrimage and pay a hefty tribute. The pilgrimage involves the
presentation of MORFIELD'S symbol of power, the rare REVENGER'S FALCON.
Without the stuffed falcon or the tribute, there is nothing to stop DERRICK
from withdrawing his support and allowing NEDIA to be defenseless.
NEVAR
Once ruled by the great KING LATHAM II, whose daughter ALARA had been
kidnapped by the King's former wizard known as TREVOR MOORLOCK, the kingdom
is now ruled by KING LUCIOUS III, single father to the princess PRISCILLA
and her betrothed PRIMUS HAWK.
NORTHERN
WASTELAND
Located on the far northeastern quadrant of BAISLA - land of the FROSTGIANTS
who inhabit the frozen GLACIAL PLAINS created by the ENDLESS ONE.
OLANTH
One of the barbarian kingdoms located on the ISLE OF NAGRAEL ruled by
CHANCELLOR CHULA.
OLOROTH
An elvish city in GLANDORIUM where the GREAT LIBRARY is located.
THE ONE TREE
The tree grows in the middle of the great forest, and is cared for by
the druids that abide there. It is the source of their magic, and must
be protected at any cost.
PALISADE
A great coastal kingdom ruled by the occasionally missing KING REVILO
III.
REGISTAAD
Kingdom ruled by KING TOTTI.
SACRED GROVE
Located in the GREAT FOREST, land of the DRUIDS.
SANGRE
A small village located in the MISTY VALLEY. The village serves as a way
station for travelers who seek to cross the BARRIER MOUNTAINS using the
PARKMAN TRAIL. The village has been around for over 100years and yet has
never prospered or managed to grow any larger. People born there see it
as a place to escape from, not settle down in and so it remains a small
village, eking out a meager existence and of no real value to anyone.
The only thing of note is a large abandoned CASTLE located up in the mountains
known as CASTLE SANGRE. It is believed to be haunted by the villagers
and is shunned by all.
SNOWY RIVER
A river that is used by the HIGHLANDERS of the NORTHERN WASTELANDS to
transport their prized export of ash wood.
TABIR
One of the DWARVEN KINGDOMS ruled by LORD DANNON and QUEEN DAGGOTH.
VENDOR
One of the BANDIT KINGDOMS of NAGRAEL.
WESTHELM
A province of the GLENDAR PLAINS led by GENERAL VODUN who seeks to control
the trade routes.
WINDEN
Home of the WIZARD'S COUNCIL. The ISLE lies in the center of the GREAT
OCEAN and is only visible at certain times of the year.
WINOKUR
Located in the Barbarian Kingdom of BENTON, it is an isolated village
that ekes out a hard living along the eastern shores of NAGRAEL. There
is an ancient sacrifice practiced in this Kingdom. Each year, a PORTAL
to the NEGATIVE PLANE opens up and allows a creature called BANTOM to
come through. The PORTAL is only open for a short time and if the creature
can be distracted long enough, it is drawn back into its dimension. Decades
ago, it was discovered that a VIRGIN MAIDEN (why is it never virgin men?),
kept BANTOM occupied and thus the ritual sacrifice began.

COTERIE OF
GLANDOR
A long, long time ago, when magic was all powerful and the world was young,
the GNOMES OF ARDEMEA and the ELVES OF GLANDORIUM created a set of magical
items that when used together, gave the bearer tremendous powers. Called
the COTERIE OF GLANDOR, the set consisted of the RING OF RESURRECTION,
the BRACERS OF PUISSANCE, the MEDALLION OF COGITATION, and the CROWN OF
SIGHT. Each item had its own specific power and was bequeathed to a specific
race. The bracers went to the dwarves, the medallion to the gnomes, the
crown to the elves and the ring to the giants. Once a year, the bearers
all met to put the Coterie to use. You see, when used in conjunction with
each other, by persons of sufficient will, they produced almost Godlike
powers. The ability to see into the future, the power of mass telepathy,
the ability to mass teleport and the power to create life. In the beginning,
it was used to populate atoll with many of its wondrous creatures and
virtually landscape the entire realm. Much of the fairy kingdom was created
through the use of the Coterie and harmony was maintained by allowing
all minds to see as one. But as with any great power, there is the danger
of misuse. In the end, it was greed and lust for control that led to ruin.

If these statues are placed on the PATH OF WAR in the CAVE OF TRIUMPH,
the elder god of war HORAK will be summoned.
FOUR SCEPTERS
OF ACCORD
These SCEPTERS were created when the great SORCERESS, AMITY, broke the
ROD OF PEACE into four parts. As long as they were in the possession of
the land's ruler, the kingdom could not fall to outside aggression. This
served as a balance of power and prevented any one kingdom from getting
the upper hand. This peace was forced on the BANDIT KINGDOMS by AMITY,
who dedicated her life to removing evil and strife from Atoll. The BANDIT
KINGDOMS would like nothing better than to wipe the other three kingdoms
from the face of the realm and rule the southern tip of NAGRAEL alone.
However, KING REVILO has a financial interest in keeping the region stable.
The Bandit Kingdoms are his link to the highly valued materials and goods
produced by the MINES OF IRONHELM. The dwarves only deal with the barbarians,
the barbarians only deal with the BANDIT KINGDOMS, and PALISADE has an
exclusive trade agreement with the BANDIT KINGDOMS. This fragile economic
house of cards is doomed to collapse if war breaks out.
GEM OF THE
MAGI
GREGARIOUS recovered the item that SINESTRA feared the most, and planned
to use it to break up the force trying to break through into BAISLA from
LISBON. This should give the ALLIANCE the reprieve it needs to destroy
SINESTRA'S ARMY on the plains of GLENDAR.
MEDALLION
OF COGITATION
One of the magical items that form the COTERIE OF GLANDOR.
ORB OF POWER
When we cast spells, we draw from the power of the universe and channel
it through our bodies. The Orb of Power allows that to happen. Without
the Orb, the simplest spell would leave us weak and exhausted, because
the energy required to control the forces of change must come from somewhere.
The Orb's power is occasionally strained, however, by massive spells being
thrown by adventurers everywhere. Where once spells were used to accomplish
one task,
now spell casters feel free to try and load on three or four effects into
one spell. I mean really. I summon the entire party here alive and well?
Is that a summons, a heal, or a resurrect?
THE PALANTIR
OF KINGS
The PALANTIR was given to the DWARVES after the GREAT WAR for their
heroism and bravery. The PALANTIR enables the owner to lead. People follow
and obey without question. It was the uniting force among the four tribes.
Its powers are seldom used now and it is little more than an heirloom.
PEARLS OF
WISDOM
These artifacts are powerful magical items that symbolize the harmony
of existence in LIFE, MONEY and LOVE. When they are placed together, they
promote balance and harmony, apart they can be extremely disruptive. Each
PEARL has a distinctive COLOR, but their POWERS are constantly shifting
from PEARL to PEARL, so that you can never be sure which PEARL you are
holding until you try to use it. This is why they are constantly kept
together and never used.
REVENGERS
FALCON
MORFELD'S symbol of power. KING TOBEY of NEDIA must make a yearly pilgrimage
and pay a hefty tribute to KING DERRICK of MORFELD which includes the
